Silverdale.. lal :P

Silverdale
After many tries.. yet again im back with a new Silverdale. You guys are really gonna loose faith in my games this time.. haha! But you know what, i don't care.. im really proud over this latest version of Silverdale.. since i can easily say, its the best.. the most well balanced and most well done version yet. This is actually the first time im really satisfied with the way things are done.

So whats new?

Nothing at all.. well almost nothing. Last thing DFA coded was sound effects for Weapons and Spells.. which isint totally perfect.. but it's okay. Allthrough i have no cool sound effects yet, i will try to find.. Oh yeah, some bugs have been fixed!
Well other than that there is atleast 50+ Items for all Classes. And there are 4 Classes.. The Max level is 10, all Spells and Ranks have been made, and i wont raise the Level Cap untill im done with the next 10 levels. Yep im being really organized this time Tongue.

Whats so better done?
Well first of all, ive done shop items before Rarity drops.. that way i can keep up with my own Development.. ive really gone through all mistakes ive done in the past.. to make this game as easy to work with as possible. And so i can get back to it when i havent worked on it for a while.. and you know what, its worked for the first time. I started this project probably months ago, and i came back into it.. finnishing it. There is not as "wide" content as the older versions.. but ive sure spent more time doing items and spells well balanced.

Ive also gave up making to big Worldmaps.. Instead ive came back with another way of getting back to developing the game.. even if i get bored of it for a while. Ive made a starting area, and a main City. From this City you will be able to take the boat to any new Areas.. That way i dont need to make alot of roads leading everywhere else.. which is the most painfull part of Mapping. Ive pretty much made this game as well made, and easy to work with as possible.. Just so i can keep it up for once.

I hope you all can give it atleast a chance.. try it atleast. I really wish more people would give the new Silverdale's a better chance.. Think of it this way.. the more players play, the harder it will be to close down the project.. Well atleast i'll be able to get back into this one if i ever decide to close it Tongue.

You can download the game at this link.

Quote:History of Delara
Once known as the "Golden City".. Now flooded with Undead creatures. Delara was once to be a city flourishing with joy and happiness. Built by the great Wizard Kelhazrd for his study of human emotions.. which later turned into questions of Life and Death. Secretively he took the path into Necromancy.. The answer to what exactly happend to Delara is still unknown.. Hundreds of years later, what was once a beatiful city is now ruins of evil, lost souls and mysteries.

Quote:After i released 1.3.7.. we'll probably have a new patch soon which will feature a 25-level cap.. Since i found it really easy to make Items/Spells.

What we'll be seing in the nearest new updates is a new Boss..

The Creature of the Cursed Woods
Nelphara is the sleeping demon of the Cursed Woods.. She sleeps in the cold river.. Her powers slowly mutate the surrounding area, making it a perfect home for Wisps and other strange and magical creatures.

Nelphara will be the first boss to feature a Unique drop... Being the color Blue. ( Not Cyan/Light Blue) Being a boss located in an open area she will have alot of HP and Defence, being time consuming. She will also feature having very strong Guardians.

Is that mapped into the map or is that actually a sprite?

K. Just taking a guess. The front part of the boss is the sprite, right?

If any huge problems accur with this account.. There might be a chance we might re-roll back to last backups of Accounts made just before the release of 1.3.8. But I doubt there will be any that serious problems..

I've learnt a few things reading this forum, one of them is to ignore what ever Nean has to say.

Anyway, it doesn't matter I know what it is. I'm behind a proxy and can't connect out to certain ports. I can't be bothered to change it. I totally forgot I was hooked on this stupid LAN. One of the downsides to being in a VERY restricted university. Even YouTube gets blocked half the time.

Lochie just said it's prolly because of his proxy and what not with his internet connection.

Quote:Well, as you probably know, I've been helping out Sebastian and Dmitry with the game. I've had the source for a good week now, but due to real life I haven't been able to get a good look until this weekend.

I'm sure you all saw my post explaining what I wanted to achieve with the engine, and I've since added a couple of features which I'll show off as I get them done.

Here's the two features I've had finished, with some help from my mentor, and good friend, Jacob.

Inventory and Banks!

The new inventory is much cleaner than the older version. All currency items now show their value in the inventory, and the programming behind it, even though you might not care much, is much, much cleaner!

Here's a small look at what it'll look like now!

Also, the banks are now fully functional. I made a small box to house it, but I'm sure Sebastian will supply us with a very nice interface for it!

Once you log in for the first time after the update, you'll receive a note!

Reading the note will give you a small in-character message regarding the location of the new bank.

Now, if you walk up to Lupin, and walk into the fantastic new bank's building, you can access a vault which can store up to 100 different types of item, and up to 32,000 of each non-stackable item, or a few billion if it's a currency.

A commonly requested feature, and one I've been wanted for a long time, is the ability to swap items between slots in the inventory (and in the new bank Tongue)

This can now be done! Simply dragging the item around the inventory, and dropping it, will swap the two items between slots, or move a single item to a different slot.

Here's a few shots of it in action. I click the item:

Drag it over to a different part of the bank:

And let go!

This works in both the inventory and bank :]

I'll come back and post some more, when I get some new features done.

That swapping items is a feature all games should have, if they have vis inventory. Nice to see some stuff getting done. Can't wait for the server to come up so I can give it a try.

The server's been up for a few days, it goes down a few hours at a time but nothing major.

Robin Wrote:Parties are now working pretty well.

It's mostly behind-the-scenes stuff I've been doing, and the interface is horribly basic, but it works :]

You can create a party by typing in /invite [playername]. They can then accept or decline this invitation using commands, and they can also leave a party using a command.

Once the new patch comes out, these ugly commands will be replaced with a nice user interface which should make it seem more intuitive.

Gold share, Exp share and Sp sharing all works now, thanks to Dmitry's good work.

Harry pointed something quite funny out when we were playing, however. He was dropping and picking up his gold to show me how much he had, and when he picked it up I got a generous 1/2 share of it Tongue It pointed out to me that if people are throwing their gold around on the floor, the entire party can help themselves to it whether they can pick it up or not. I'll probably edit the gold drop from npcs to go straight to a player's inventory, instead.
