I generally like the whole idea, it makes the game special and in the same time,
you push players forward, to fight for something - to become a GOD.
Smart "god" will request gold amount from people to increase drop rate
from 0.5 to 1.5 for example... it will make game play interesting
and word "GoD" in game name will not go to waste.
But, let me go back few posts where some people said that game will not
be playable or better put, that game will not reach bigger audience:
1.) There are no SERIOUS games made with these engines, that are released.
There are some chunks of those, where you have endless grinding
(Ok, there is one => Silverdale, but it's still uncomplete, with some quests added it would ROCK)
2.) If larger audience is working on it and if people will be serious, this will be the game with
quite some members doing something that may become one of the first serious games out there
3.) It may even become so good that it can reach "www.mmorpg.com" list.
What I mentioned is reachable but starting with small steps and aiming to a bit larger audience
will help because as I can see there are some talented people working on this. So don't beat down
morale of people, let's "cheer" to them if we aren't helping with project otherwise.
Pffft...I had to write that "DOT"
