Vista & Runtime Error 429 - Coke - 07-07-2008 Alright guys, Just to clarify before I start:
On my work machine, and for several users on my forums using vista, we are prompted with runtime error 429, "ActiveX component cannot create ActiveX object". Really doing my head in now, has anyone managed to get around this issue, if so please can you tell me the steps you have taken so if at all possible I can automate it in my client installation process. Cheers, Fox Re: Vista & Runtime Error 429 - GIAKEN - 07-07-2008 Make sure that dx7vb.dll or dx8vb.dll is in your system32 folder and registered. I had to manually do it to get it to work. Re: Vista & Runtime Error 429 - Coke - 07-07-2008 Cheers mate I'll give it a go tomorrow. I'm assuming if you run a batch file as Administrator you can move / register things with it, if that's the case I'll throw together a vista batch troubleshooting package for the players. Here's to hoping it works :] |
