First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 This is the first created map for k2h, this one will be used in the game: ![]() Im so proud of myself. Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 It's good. But the walls are too thin, and it looks like the front and back walls are just lying on the ground. Maybe add a bit of depth to the front/back walls, and widen the side walls? Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Good points, but I will leave it like that for now. I will probably go through everything after the final and fix such things. This is how the edges of the world will look: A lot of water around the whole world ![]() ![]() Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 That's a good idea. Again, another suggestion. Blend the two water tiles as a separate tile. Then use that between the two. Will look better. Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Yeah, might do that so it doesnt change in so bright colors. Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Yet another simple screenshot: ![]() Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 Not bad. The respawn button, is that to resync yourself with the map? If so, I'd change that to resync, before players think they're always dead or something.. xD Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Dave Wrote:very square.Well water tends to be square, I might pixel a few more tiles so the water wont go in a straight line. Perfekt Wrote:Not bad.The respawn button was just a quick add to the beta, I will make a nice button and perhaps name it resync. Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 I'd put it in an options menu or something. Water isn't square. Water is what ever shape the world around it is. If it's a round island, the water is round. ^_^ Pour a glass of water. It's the shape of the glass. Put it on the ground, it's the same of the ground, put it in a box, it's square. ![]() Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Lets skip the water for now ![]() ![]() Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 Houses are not long/deep enough. That's the only thing I see wrong with it. Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Perfekt Wrote:Houses are not long/deep enough. Re: First Map Ever - Robin - 31-08-2007 No offense William, but the people who were mapping in the Beta seemed to do a better job >_> Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 So you refer to the roof, you want it wider.. Could work. And robin, thats because you have no taste in real work, and probably because the maps isn't fully finished yet. Re: First Map Ever - Robin - 31-08-2007 William Wrote:So you refer to the roof, you want it wider.. Could work. Aww, if you're gonna dismiss my views you could have not pushed me down so hard :( Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Okay :? Well anyway, I have to do all my maps on my own or everything will be totaly messed up. I might not map good enough for you, but at least I use my tiles as they where created to be used. And thats what matters to me. Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 William Wrote:Okay :? Well anyway, I have to do all my maps on my own or everything will be totaly messed up. The house looks like the player could lay down next to it and be as long as it. xD Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Okay, I see what you mean. Might look into that later. I'd bet Robin likes this screenshot: ![]() Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Check this, Im napping ![]() ![]() Re: First Map Ever - Matt - 31-08-2007 You see how thick those walls are, yet how thin they are on the first map? They need to be like that. ^_^ Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Perfekt Wrote:You see how thick those walls are, yet how thin they are on the first map? Your houses have really thick walls when you look inside, but outside they're thin. Just map them fatter. Re: First Map Ever - William - 31-08-2007 Robin Wrote:We where talking about the castle walls outside. Just use the other inside tile and just split the castle wall tile in half >_> Re: First Map Ever - Dark Echo - 02-09-2007 I like them.. They look insane.. Only thing i'd say would be that the white house you showed on the first page didnt look like it belonged.. I dont know.. Might've been just me.. But yeah, other than that it looks sweets.. ![]() |
