Blitting Tutorial

I know sites have been posted and what not, but is there a tutorial specific to blitting things in the MS engine. It would be cool to have a specific tutorial that covers, blitting text, blitting images, and blitting shapes, and perhaps animations.

I know all this is in the code but i'm not familiar with blitting (I can do anything else involving MS programming).
