I used to have a 633mhz processor in my PC, I just recently upgraded to 1.13ghz, and I noticed a difference in my game. Before the upgrade, npcs very rarely moved.
This is something that really needs to be fixed. Because not only did they not move, they didn't attack or anything. Players with slower processors will have an advantage over other players and could cause some problems.
Anyone have a take on this?

I take it was online, and I also take it that you have leveled up since then, and I also take it that you are talking about two different games..?
I am talking about Shade Wood. My MS game.

Well, since you have a slow computer, the server runs slow. Other people will probably not have the same problem even if they have a slow processor. Since they only process the client.
Not true. I had the same problem when Sonire ran the server. We're both on cable and his PC is still better than mine.

If you said 'my game' a few times it would have gone in, because I skim read
Ah. I see. It's okay Kite. We all know you can't read well.

If there's a topic that isn't off-topic, Kite will come to save the day
I'm not sure what you mean though. I ran a server on a very old Pentium 1 with probably less than 256mb RAM. Apart from the server lagging like hell everything seems to work fine.
I'm too a bit confused, sounds like your computer is just very laggy.
And if you attacked one of the 'frozen' npcs, nothign should happen since your client is too slow at sending/recieving crap.
It just seemed that it was slow in processing the npc data. I could attack them, kill them, get the xp, etc. But they wouldn't move or attack back. Well, they would move here and there, like once every 2 minutes. And during a fight, they would attack like once very 1 minute or so. I dunno. I will do further testing on this when I go beta. I will put up a poll or something, I dunno.

Actually, I did have this problem a lot with Elysium Diamond, I had to respawn the map again for the NPCs to move, but that was a bug in the code.

I didn't understand exacly, but from what I got: You changed the procesor of the Client, not where the Server is running, and everything speeded up. I'm not sure if that's right but probly is realy the slow things that the server it self can't handle, I mean... You should add timer locks(AttackTimer for example) server side and, well.. I don't know I didn't understand much xD
I changed the processor in my PC, which went from 633mhz, to 1130mhz, or 1.13ghz. I've run the server and client on both processors, and with the new one, it runs faster, npcs move, etc, but that's expected. With the old one, whether I ran the server or Sonire did, it was still super slow on the client side of things, making it to where the npcs didn't move or attack, and also I was alot slower than Sonire was, when running around the maps.
