There will be other things to do besides killing monsters

Ex: There will be job skills, (Smithing, Fisherman, ect..), As well as World pvp (Where applicable) and arenas to PvP in. These are just a few things you'll be able to do besides killing monsters

As for the PvP, I already stated arenas to fight in, We are also thinking about adding a battlegrounds type PvP, To where there are 2 teams, and an objective to complete to win. Also, We are also tossing around the ideas for bounties. Bounties would be posted in the town you placed the bounty on, also, you must have enough reputation with that town to post a bounty. Also, You cannot post a bounty on towns your starting town is. (Please consult the forums for explanation of reputation)

REPUTATION - Basicly, When you choose which starting town you want to begin with, thats the town you will gain rep with when doing quests. You cannot go to the other starting towns, as you will be killed by the guards, as well as players in that are who are from another town will be your enemy. When you get rep with your town high enough, you will get bonuses from the town (More quests, Items Possible, as well as battleground PvP)
Battleground PvP will be town based (Town Vs. Town)

As for bosses, ALL bosses will require some skill to fight. They do not fight the same way each time, making them a unique challenge each fight. Each boss has a melee attack, then, each boss will have at LEAST 1 SPECIAL SKILL (Whether is be an AoE, a Debuff, A Self Buff, Teleportation, Ect...) The later dungeon bosses will also require a party to kill, as you will need teamwork to kill these rather hard bosses Smile

Hope that clears some things up

Cause over the years its started and stopped, to where it had to be redone from scratch.
Also, What happened to Godbord, Silverdale, The other projects you have been working on?

They died, but they died with pride. Its been like 4 years and all you have to offer are a 50x50 preview of some tiles you remade from a zelda game.

Perhaps you should try something else, since you seem to accomplish nothing. Atleast with my games, i offered the public hundreds of screens.. and releases.

Not to mention i influensed alot of people, and brought the game design at these forums to another stage.

Oh we accomplish a lot actually, we improve our skills in each field we work in. So to say we've accomplished nothing is a damn lie. And just because you offered released games doesn't mean much, Anybody can release a game. Anyways, I am not going to flame, for I have no reason to flame you, You are a good spriter, I don't doubt you of that, but to put other projects down, its a shame how you can do that.

You could take this from my point of view, like i said.. all you've shown is a few mockups of tiles youve made.. and their old.

I am the public, as everybody else is. You're job is to update us on this game, sofar for the 4 past years i havent seen much interesting stuff in this project.. "Except some years ago, when you actually did some interesting stuff, the game was near release i believe untill it died off for some reason."

You may improve your skills, but what are those skills good for unless you inspire or actually do something we can appreciate.. You've offered some mockups, i must say they arent very impressive.. They would have been, 1-2 years ago.. But things have changed now.

Actually yes, 1 year and a half ago, we did enter beta testing, a successful beta testing, but we were left high and dry by our programmer, with 1 copy of the source, and a computer failure to that computer shut that one down.

and not all of these tiles you see are old, the first few, yes, they are the original tiles. but there are new tiles, as the later mock-ups provide
And yes, my job is to update you, that is exactly what i do. I don't update every day, or not even every other day, as for I do have a job, as well as the other people on my team, we have lives to run as well. Awakening is just a hobby we do. We don't rush ourselves to the point to where game creation isn't fun for us anymore. We try to balance our lives with the creation of Awakening. Yes, it has been 3 years in development, off and on, restarting and restarting, but we do our bests to put out something we're proud of, and we are proud of what we've accomplished and what we want to accomplish, whether you bash us or not. We know what we want, and what are expectations of Awakening are, if they don't meet yours, too bad, Leave us be. There is no reason to down our project because of development times, or the way it looks, or its features, or anything like that, You do your thing, and let us do ours.

I feel sorry for you that you cant take on feedback and criticism.

Im not bashing your project, im being realistic and im giving you a responce to what i see regarding your updates for the past years.. If you plan on taking that as me being mean... do so, i dont really care.. Your game, your choices.

Next time i should probably just post "You suck" since thats obviously what you read from my posts here..

Because All i see is your negative feedback, You give me negative feedback, I see negative feedback, You didn't put one ounce of positive or even neutral feedback to that, so yeah, you are bashing our project.

Yes i decided just to mention the bad parts. If that makes you sad, then i feel sad for you later on.

And yeah by the way, to blame this on having life.. I have a life.. And i still am able to create games, also as a hobby.. Since about an hour or two maybe each second day is all it takes, really. If you dont have 1-2 hours to offer for a community you're suppose to build and support, which you will need when making an ORPG... Perhaps you should try making a pac-man game instead of an Online RPG..

It doesn't make me sad at all, and i'm not blaming this on having a life. I'm not blaming anything really, We've had bad luck in the past, and we are going to push on with Awakening, whether you bash it or not.

Now, can we get a moderator to clean up this thread? Thanks

Well i feel sad for you that you still see this as Bashing.

I dont think this should be cleaned, the things i said i clearly thought through.. and if you had a different attitude it could have been taken as Aid.. But obviously you see Feedback/Critism as bashing.. Since all you want is Good Feedback, how people tell how pretty tiles you've made.. while nobody points out the bad stuff.

Well if you're going to have this attitude, im just going to warn you.. You need to change it, since bad stuff is much more easily noticed by other than yourself.. And "bad" feedback is really the key to improvement..

Thats why i dont think this should be cleaned, if you actually read through the stuff i said you might have realized what my true intention was.. since i never have a feel to just go bashing games without reason.. And people who can take on critism can actually have use of the stuff i said...

I never said i can't take feedback, if its constructive, as yours is basically telling me to stop production, or glorifying yourself

If you actually READ by posts, you'd understand what im trying to point out.. And it clearly is critism, what else it is? Perhaps its just random bashing like "you suck". But yeah, yet again.. you only see this as negative feedback which dont give any kind of good to you.. Well suit yourself, Food is only good to you when you actually eat it..

Im tired, its late.. As i said, i dont care.. take my replies anyway you want, i dont care what you do with your game..

Wow my eyes are being really weird...some parts of the text are looking bold and others aren't...

Anyways, I was really into this game when it was in its prime and I always watched the website and the videos and looked at the previews. Just having what you had done...the intense looking scenes of arrows flying around from NPCs and players, the grappling hook extension (if I remember correctly?), pushing blocks (again maybe that was in it?), and whatever else was done...it looked really awesome.

There always seems to be conflict between people that have the same skill...pixel artists against pixel artists, game mappers / devs against others (like an incident that happened at ES), but there is one exception...most of the programmers get along. Like I don't have a problem with Robin or John or whoever else is a programmer on this forum or wherever...but I think Spodi and Verrigan were going at it back in the day maybe? Sorry for that little bit that didn't have to do with your game, Lambo. Tongue

We've been through this twice before, On ES's Forums. And I do take it personally when you say 'Try creating a pac-man game' or 'You seem to accomplish nothing'
