i dont get this. what is index for when there is a function or sub that has index as one of the needed variables?

It's the number of the player in use.

so like the server is Index 0, and the next player to sign in is index 1, and so on?

Server doesn't have an index.

I think it does start at 1, I really can't remember, there's rarely any reason you'd need to know the number itself, everything is in context.
