Paying for Vb6 Programmer
#1
The community at Eclipse is looking for a programmer to help squash some of the bugs that are present in the current release of the engine. We are looking for coders that are very very fluent in the language. If you no a small amount of vb6 then please dont apply. The coder will not be adding any features to the engine he will merely be fixing bugs that are present. If you are interested please post here with a small resume.

Resumes should include how fluent you are in VB6, what projects you have participated in some screenshots of your work. Also what you will be willing to work for money will depend on speed of completion and number of bugs fixed. But please post how much you are willing to work for and any other information that you deem fit.

If you do not like Eclipse or do not wish to code for it please keep those concerns to yourself as this is not the appropriate place to have these arguments.

List of Bugs that need fixing

RTE 9 - Subscript out of range for every client connected when one exits.

Scrolling maps bug, when move other player's head moves with you...

This is another scrolling maps bug. When I go to edit a map and try to place a tile it don't land in the spot I click on. It lands one space up, and one space to the left. This only happens when editing scrolling maps, normal maps seem to work fine.

Sometimes when you equip items you get runtime error 9 and everyone gets booted from the server, and also, when you cast spells, you can't see the animation at all.

Player login bug: when you login it says you have no characters but when you go back to the main menu and log in again there right there.

Yeah I think this is a shop bug, when I make my item it is correct on the ground, in inventory, and equipped, but the wrong sprite is displayed in the shop window.

In the client as admin when I click on 'Edit scripts' from the admin menu, the server pops up "Error 76 (Path not found) in procedure Form_Load of Form frmEditor. I click the OK button on the server's box it popped up and then the client pops up the script editor.

there's a glitch where if if you try to sell anything it tells you that you cannot sell equipped items.

I found an item bug. When I choose a sprite to represent the item, save and come back to the item, the sprite has reset to plain black. Help?

I no that there are alot of bugs in the list. Fix as many as you think you can multiple coders may be hired if one cannot get them all. Alot of these are pretty simple fixes. Again please keep the flames in a different thread. (perhaps chit chat)

I can tell you that around 75% of the active community could easily fix these bugs.

But I highly suggest you recruit in a forum where your engine isn't so... frowned upon...

Indeed. Specially when Verrigan puts price tags on stuff. xD

Hey how about this, I'll fix your source for free if you release it to the community as an open source project under the GNU license.

i feel special, verrigan helped me out on my source ages ago concerning IOCP and some encrypting issues Wink

Marsh I see you didn't pursue Robin, good job as he was being a smartass. Lol. He was making fun of Undead, I think.
#14
Not really, and I seriously would have gone through and fixed the bugs, but if Spodi wants to do it, that's fine.
