Request Account Deletion thread

Nobody is bothored that you banned 2 members Matt, its just sad that this place has turned into such a waste of space. The only reason I bother checking here anymore is to see if magically overnight someone has grabbed it by the balls and turned it into what it fucking should be. And unfortunately mate, what it should be doesn't include you as a moderator, doesn't include constant private community warfare, and tbh doesn't include most of the people here.

Bleh, what do I know, its not like I've ever pulled together a community before :? . But seriously, this place needs to start again with a strong message and a decisive goal - active MMO coding discussion. Look at good open source communities from all walks of life, they wouldn't piss on MS to put out a fire in an orphanage.

Having a lil community of people in the corner that just pitch up to chat is great, but its dominated these forums and there aren't any serious coders here anymore. Not anyone that really gives a shit anymore, aside from Jacob who is a hero. I believe this has happened mainly down to people growing out of vb6 and progressing to other languages, projects, hell most of them probably just moved on from coding alltogether.. but this shouldn't kill a community. New people come, new spirit, there is always a goal and people pushing forward in open source communities, always.

There isn't here. This place isn't inviting to onlookers, its hard to find, there is no clear product, nothing for people to get excited about, its just a dreary little forum on the corner of the internet full of kids, power trips, assholes and redundant code.

When someone would like to set up a polished corner of the internet where ms can be what it is, an oldschool hobbiest introduction to MMO game design - call me. Until then, most of you are pissing on what this project has to offer and pissing all over each other.

We had a visit from Consty a while ago at MR and he said it was the most true-to-nature realisation of what he'd invisioned MS to be that he'd ever seen. He visited us, not this place, not anybody else, us. Why? Because we are a couple of guys who want to code a game, not a couple of guys who want to sit on a forum day in day out achieving fuck all and bitching at each other.

Throw everything you know of this place out the window, look at the product, assess its target market, and construct an online representation that sells to that market. MR has always pulled in outsiders, always - because I ignored all the shit here and presented the product in a way I would like it to be presented to me.

What would I like to find if I went out one day searching on the internet for X? If X was a small 2d retro MMO project coded in a language I could understand very well in under 6 months, I wouldn't find it hidden under all these layers of bullshit.

TLDR, whatever. Seriously though guys, pull your shit together. The collective talent is here, why doesn't anyone take charge and sort this all out? I'll tell you why, because people are too busy pissing on each other to form alliances and sort it out. Stop being such a bunch of selfish pricks and deliver MS to the masses, if you can't - let somebody else.

Bleh, thats the last I'm saying on any of it. When I first found MS it was fucking amazing. People elsewhere on the internet had exactly the same dream as me - If I was a kid now and ran into this place then pff... I wouldn't of gotten into coding, I wouldn't of ran communities, I wouldn't of became apt in graphic and web design, I wouldn't of gotten employed where I work now, and I wouldn't be starting as a Java Developer next monday.

Start acting responsible, for fuck sake guys.
Liam
