Robin Wrote:Matt Wrote:Big whoop. I made a grammar mistake. Need I find an old post of your's that shows just how bad you were at it?
Who retired? Everyone I know is still working with it in one way or another. Maybe you know people I don't, but frankly, if you do, they're not worth knowing.
You've claimed you're the best programmer to ever step foot in this place. So, I don't know where you get that you've never claimed it.
Done more with it than I ever will? You have no idea what I've done with the source. I've never let you touch a copy of it. I'm prolly the only one who has never asked you to help me, because I know you're not that good. All you've ever done was little shit. You weren't the one to come up with any of the big things that ever happened here. I've never seen anything GOOD come from a release by you. Never. Highly doubt I will either.
The "big" things that happened were completely overshadowed later on.
Back in the day, Romeo's tutorials were considered big, as was Ron's scrolling map tutorial.
Misunderstood came out with his seamless maps code, which was also big at the time.
Since then, I was the first to release a full Dx8 conversion, which has been overshadowed now. I was the first to release NPC behaviours, although it's been completely overshadowed. I was the first to release dynamic sprite sizes, and y-based rendering. I was the first to release constant sprite animation and a decent 3-frame walk system.
If you look back, I was also the first to release an alpha-blending system for DirectDraw. True alpha blending, not the old ROP shit.
You're good at lying to yourself Matt. You must hate me a lot to block out so much of Mirage's past just to supplement your own hatred
Not at all. I just don't consider the little things you've done to be big. Misunderstood's seamless maps was literally just an optimized version of Ron's tutorial. If you paid attention, you'd know that.
