Btw, the very first game to ever use a proficiency system is the ORIGINAL Final Fantasy 2.
I doubt that...I'm not sure when FF2 came out (don't feel like googling it), but I've played old MUDs that had proficiency systems...and text based games probably came before FF2...but not sure.
