If you want people to stay i say convert MS into .net, C++ or something else that is actually new. When and if you do so i say to update to DX9 Then advertise as the worlds first .net open source ORPG engine
Doomy your an idiot for saying convert to DX9, some people don't even know DX8 yet.
DX8 is more than enough for 2D games like the ones people are trying to make.
