Matt, I wish you were not "super newgen" - which if you were "oldgen" you would know a lot more about respect. First off, I think we need to go over maturity on these forums more and separate the terms asshole and "I feel powerful putting people down" with a clear line. Anyway, back on point, "super super new gen" still program using Visual Basic 6 and do care about people who are not as fortunate to have the brain they have to the capacity to grasp the concepts and styles of programming. In doing this, they are dicks over a dying language, like defending Latin as the most common way of communication, especially for video games.
And that is another thing, it is just video games, can we all please grow up. For 90% of you this will never be more than a hobby and you will be stuck programming things you hate, unless you are lucky. Learn to do something else, like program business management applications and other such things, because then, maybe you will be useful to employers. I will not even say that though, because there are people here that use Mirage, and would actually be useful: Why you ask? They would be useful because every program they make does not contain the files "modHandleData," "modGameLogic," "frmMirage," and "modISuck." And if they do, they do not copy the subroutine names directly from Mirage and say "L00k I 4M T3H PR0GR4M B3ST3S7!@!@@#11"
I would have to say I am much more oldgen (lest I follow proper grammar and English and say old generation, or use proper abbreviation "old gen." and be "ripped apart" for it) then you, and you need to learn to not be a pompous prick. Excuse my slip there.
Keep this as a hobby and do not get a bloated head about being the most active, or the best programmer or whatever people on this forum like to do. When you have a job and a degree both relating to the game creation industry, please talk to me about Mirage Source and how much better you are then me - oh... wait... you probably would not do that because you are actually a mature adult now.
This was towards the community as a whole, though not everyone, Matt just set me off with this high school "click" thing about old generation and new generation. Yes you have been here a long time, awesome, we are all so proud you moved on to bigger and better things.

P.S. I am glad we all need to know your girlfriend touches you at night. The fact you can not take a simple joke, or feel the need to clarify you are not gay shows how very secure you are. Psychiatrists would tell us this is why you put other people down.
