Interface - GIF or BMP

I know BMP is better quality, but the files are much larger. Presummably a BMP image for a background picture on the form would take longer to load than a GIF, and of course a GIF would be smaller in file size.

Any recommendations?

Gif can be just as good if you use the right program.

Though, if I'm not mistaken, VB loads any image file into memory as a bmp so I don't think it would much matter, aside from the obvious download size.
