Mirage Future
#1
I love how most of you support me as the new owner. And I will do the best to make sure Mirage gets a new good start. Just make sure to tell me everything that you don't like that I do. I want the community to back me up on the changes that are being made.

A new website will be made, some might like the old one a lot. And for those who wants to keep it as a memory, I would be glad to send you the images and such.

My friend is very experienced in webdesign. His helping me with key2heaven (my game)'s website. And he will also make a new website for this. The point on this is to make not only the forum active, but also the website. With updating resources (not tutorials), but resources that are recommended for learning and to make ms better, and a poll now and then. As well as a chat for those who want to talk easily, also there will be a good guestbook and such. There will be many surprises, and I will spend a lot of time to make it as good as possible.

I feel honored to be a part of MS now Smile

The website is actually needed. Just register on rpgtoolkit, spend 10 minutes checking it out. and then tell me its not a good idea to make it 5% as good as that Tongue

The website is needed. You might not think the website will look pro, but check the latest website my friend did:

Your friend may be experienced in Flash, but the website isn't all that great at all.
But without going into a conversation about your friends website... By all means make a new site, but don't make it so complex that there's tons of useless gadgets. I've never really seen anybody complain about the current website.
There's a big difference between Mirage Source and Toolkit though. Their community is huge, there are some VERY popular games on there, and probably more games now that work than Mirage Source has ever had.
Unless the MS community grows to a point where the forum is hugely archived with working downloadable games, there isn't really any need for a website with all these bits and gadets.
But of course, whatever your ideas and goals I fully support you on it and wish you the best of luck.

I think its good your going to work to build MS up. For the website adding VB guides and stuff like that would be nice... like VB in general guides. Also if you had a page for like projects being worked on and stuff that would be cool... like have their features, website, downloads, screenshots and so on... im sure new people would check that out if they came to the website.

Personally, a simple website would be best. Really for all practical purposes, the website is just an easy place to find downloads, that doesn't require registering.

I really don't think a new layout is needed, and changing it for the sake of change is not an idea I like too much. However, if you really want a new layout, might I suggest using some of the same graphics, etc, to create a new layout, while retaining the original feel? I'd whip up a concept, but I'm not at home, and won't be for about a day or so (literally 26 hours).

Yeah maybe a simple website with the download links and a short little smidgen about what Mirage is... and then a big link to the forum and maybe the history page.

or you can go just straight forum. IMHO the site really isn't needed.

I like it as it is. Personally I would just leave it as is. (Fix the broken links and update the main page) But meh! =p Sometimes change is for the best.

It will not be that advanced, instead of trying to explain it. We just wait and see, and when its done, we decide if we should keep it or not.

I agree with dave on the whole strip the main site, if you do make a site make it plain and simple and VBish xD

Currently no one uses the website... hes trying to add more to it so people will go there more... so why keep the same old simple and boring site with no info that NO ONE visits instead of making it better. I dont get that.

You guys probably dont visit it now anyways since theres nothing there so whats it matter.

If you do keep actual pages up following w3c standards would be nice. Yeah, i would get rid of the counter it goes to a printing ink website.

Just make the website simple. Not to flash, then again, not to small. MS needs a website, but not something that will make visitors scared, or angry.

Personally, I would like to see a wbeiste for MS. That way, we might have a better chance of getting back of what could have happened...

Make http://www.miragesource.com a direct link to the forums. I only use it when I need to get to the forums from school or somewhere else I don't have my bookmarks.
