ms gfx bug, vista
#1
i have more layers and high fps, but on vista, the middle layer and the upper layer wont set the color key for some odd reason, so you end up with like say a tree being non transparent and a huge block around it.
is this because of direct x 10 ?

I have DX10 on vista, and I've never had that happen.
especially since Ms uses DX7...

So you could have whatever DX you want installed, as long as DX7 is present and working..

So that'd be my first think to go look at, make sure DX7 is installed and running properly and such.

No. You fucked up your code some how. Me and Vegeta use Vista and have never come across this issue.

I don't personally use it, but I've had people run my projects on vista and they've all worked fine.

Perhaps it's because you're using Video Memory instead of System Memory? (If you're using MSE1)

VideoMemory usually only affects people other than the developer doesn't it?

No. Effects anyone who tries to run the game and doesn't have enough RAM in their Video Card to hold all the shit you people load into memory at once.

Usually the developer has a decent enough computer to handle this though.

I had the same problem, it turned out it was something to do with my system but I never could figure it out. I just changed from Video to System memory and it fixed it.

I have an Nvidia Card and got this problem on a blank MSE only on tiles past like 5600 pixels x or something.
