Forget about html all together, it sucks. Go with a portal site, it's clean, neat, and looks over all, a ton better.

Portals as in CMS? heh no way xD. Just save it as .php tags and it helps a wee bit. HTML is good but obsolete.

HTML is in no way obsolete. All php outputs is HTML most of the time. :0

Sure, back-end web development is done in ASP, PHP, Perl or whatever, but as Nex said, all output to a webpage is HTML. Even an entire flash website requires that you use HTML to insert it onto the page.
