MSE2 - Still going slow - William - 22-01-2007

I dont want to wait forever to get started on mse2. Therefore I will talk to a friend and see if he knows how to fix the valkoria source.

And I guess verrigan has already tried to fix it? If not, it would be good if he could Tongue

Otherwise I don't see many of you who actually tries to fix it. So dave, give your 100% knowledge and find someway to fix it. It would be a really good base for mse2.

- grimsk8ter11 - 22-01-2007

verrigan and i have both looked through it already.

- William - 22-01-2007

Hmm.. okay. I'll check with a person on msn, if he don't know how to fix it we'll start from MSE1 unedited. If you dont know of anybody else of course.

what was the DLL idea?

If I remember correctly it was IOCP/sox or something? can't seem to remember what topic it was...

Well 4 weeks is too long imo Tongue I want to get started now Tongue So.. The features in Valkoria is the basic things on that list (the features can also be found on the Development topic in this board). The only really time consuming part is the byte arrays. And since we are more than 5 people who I think will work on MSE2, it wont take so much time to add it.

So I'd say we start from a unedited MSE1. It's easier, and by that 4 weeks, we've done far more than valks has Wink hopefully.. And I want to try and see if I can add byte arrays too, since I got help from Grim last time. So I start making a few things today, and then we can talk later.

- William - 23-01-2007

Like what, I checked the feature list. What else is it that it has? State most of it please.

- William - 23-01-2007

Yeah, that was the list I thought about. And to be serious, it do still sound kinda easy.

Dave Wrote:I also developed that byte saving stuff in Valkoria
Whats that?

- Obsidian - 23-01-2007

i think he means binary stuff? like accounts and what not

- William - 24-01-2007

I will start working on MSE2 now, we can still rip things from valkoria. That way, it might take less time.

- grimsk8ter11 - 24-01-2007

In all serious thought, it would be better to plan t out and discuss it before jumping in. What you want may not be the best for MSE, even though it is yours, you need to make your community happy if you wish ti to be worth anything.

Ripping from Valk is also a poor idea. We are not little kids here, we can code for ourselves. Tongue

- William - 24-01-2007

Grim, you got me all wrong. First of all, Im am the only one who actually tries to get this started. And I just said we could rip it because Dave said it would take so long time. And what I think is best for mse but what might not be best.. =/ Im not adding or doing anything that isn't already confirmed. You can read the Development Log topic in MSE2 Board. Im not doing anything bad in mse2. The green things are done, the only thing people in the community might not like is a new GUI, but me as a owner can rule them out Wink

- grimsk8ter11 - 24-01-2007

It wasnt just at you, just in general. Who cares if it takes tim, no need to rush it really, there should never be a great decrease in members, so it will always benefit someone once it is out.

- William - 24-01-2007

Yes I know it's not good to rush, but I want it finished. And I dont see valkoria being fixed any time soon. So I think its a good idea to start from mse1.
