Its nice. I'm not crazy about green though.

- Mithlomion - 06-01-2007

Hehe kinda Bevrias like, honestly i dont really like it.. Kinda repetive. The style is good, pretty much great for an engine.. But comon, be creative.. Something new would be nice Smile

- Dragoons Master - 06-01-2007

I vote for 'No Vote'. I don't think this should be changes. Since the developers shall not use this for their game, is pointless to change it. Just leave it like it is. Don't worry about this...

- halla - 06-01-2007

I think with a new version it would be nice... even if no one will use it... still.

Throw a link to the site on there Wink

- William - 06-01-2007

Okay, so many people dont really like the green color. I'll see if I can do something about that.

- Robin - 06-01-2007

I think we should use the default layout (the one which MSE1, 3.0.3, 3.0.7 were all released with) but get rid of the awkward layout.

It took me a few weeks to get my head around the GUI, especially frmMirage.

- William - 06-01-2007

Made a grey one instead:

If anybody else wants to try to make a better, feel free to do so. Because the GUI will be changed.

- Harry - 06-01-2007

How about this:

- William - 06-01-2007

Yeah, that aint bad. I think I like it more than the one I made Tongue

- William - 06-01-2007

Dave Wrote:hah, have you guys seen the Valkoria GUI? I made it with the idea in mind that I would be making the game skinnable, and no one would use my GUI Smile
Havn't seen it.

- Matt - 06-01-2007

I think the current GUI, doesn't really help much in the means of helping someone change it. It's a bit confusing, I mean, it's simple for us, because we've all done it so many times now, we know where everything is and what everything is or does. I say change it, but don't just change one thing, change the whole thing.

- William - 06-01-2007

What do you mean with change the whole thing?

ps. Dave, very nice gui Wink

- Matt - 06-01-2007

Change the pictures up, put a border around picscreen and the chat box. Put images on the inventory and spells pic boxes and such. That way people can tell where everything is.

- William - 06-01-2007

They will have new colors so they dont blend into the bkg.

- Forte - 06-01-2007

I say yes to a new GUI. Maybe not for the main menu but deff for the game screen. When i first started it kindof confused me at first.

It confused everybody at first Tongue

- Dark Echo - 08-01-2007

I like the gui.. the grey one especially.. (sp?) Anyway, as for a new MS gui, i say just leave it plain old VB.. Its a lot simplier and plus, it saves new people coming into MS removing the gui..

I wouldnt mind doing it either.. Also changing all the buttons to command buttons would make things a lot simplier.. I know it wouldnt looks too flash, but yeah.. It would encourage people of think of a style and their own design.. But yeah, thats what i think.. If no one follows it, then i'd say go with Williams design..

- Matt - 08-01-2007

DE has a really good idea. So many more games would steer clear of the Mirage style. And it would save you alot of gui work as well.

To do that.. more work would be have to be done Tongue

- Matt - 08-01-2007

How? I don't think it would take long at all.

You would probably need to merge a few forms together, so you dont have all those buttons to; delete account, login etc. And change how the different things are used, like the listbox for the chars etc.

And the ingame would have to be drasticly changed.

- Matt - 08-01-2007

You're just replacing what's there with basic vb controls. Like command buttons instead of the picbox buttons.

Ohh, I thought you ment in general; to make your game non-ms'ish. Well, just using command buttons and such doesn't look very good, then I rather use the one thats in use now.

- Matt - 08-01-2007

It's a base engine, it doesn't need to look good. Command buttons would force people to be creative and not copy the current gui. If you don't want to do it, then don't. I'm just saying it would be better that way.
