Windows 7 - Mozza - 29-07-2009 Any got Mirage Working on Windows 7? i have tried to register DX7VB in system32 but it won't have it !! Re: Windows 7 - jaheoo - 29-07-2009 It works.. Ive did it before but its a hell on. On the other hand, ive NEVER got it working on vista. Re: Windows 7 - Beres - 29-07-2009 So download dx7vb.dll and add it in.. Then register it. Re: Windows 7 - grimsk8ter11 - 29-07-2009 Beres Wrote:So download dx7vb.dll and add it in.. Then register it. If only the new versions of windows made it that easy for backwards compatability. Re: Windows 7 - grimsk8ter11 - 29-07-2009 Matt Wrote:grimsk8ter11 Wrote:Beres Wrote:So download dx7vb.dll and add it in.. Then register it. Actually, they do not. Windows is trying to phase out vb6, most of the DLLs are blocked, and if not, poorly supported. I don't care what you say, I know from personal experience, for a fact, that it works. ![]() Re: Windows 7 - Dragoons Master - 29-07-2009 On windows server 2008 it didn't work just installing the dlls and such. I installed microsoft windows compatibility toolkit 5(I think) then it worked like on xp, normaly. And that is the server side. Re: Windows 7 - grimsk8ter11 - 29-07-2009 I also use Windows 7, Vista and XP. It is volatile at best on Vista and on Windows 7, not all copies support it. You need to think that a situation you have is no always the same for everyone. Re: Windows 7 - Matt - 29-07-2009 grimsk8ter11 Wrote:I also use Windows 7, Vista and XP. You're the first person to not be able to get it to work. Also, it will work, you just have to tweak some things. The same Vista work around works for 7. I've installed it several times on several different machines and lo and behold, it always works. ![]() Re: Windows 7 - Matt - 29-07-2009 DFA Wrote:well, somebody tried using my map editor with windows7 I'd have to know their full set up, the shit they're running and if they're smart enough to run it with desktop composition turned off in the compatibility tab. Re: Windows 7 - Mozza - 29-07-2009 Yer i have it working now, thanks to Matt. Was easy when i thought about it, just love XP to much. Re: Windows 7 - Matt - 29-07-2009 DFA Wrote:ill find out, do u have any more tips to get it running as it should be? You have to go into the user account settings and disable UAC and then you have to register the dll files in administrator mode. As long as you're an admin, you should be fine. But that's not always the case. Re: Windows 7 - halla - 29-07-2009 I have it working on Vista and I didnt change anything Re: Windows 7 - scarra3 - 30-07-2009 Ive got it working on Windows 7 easily I just do the same thing I do in vista. Turn off UAC, add the .dlls that I need and register them install vb6 and it all works. Re: Windows 7 - ExoShox - 30-07-2009 how could anyone not get this to work? It's really simple, copy, paste, register. if you do it right you don't need to change any settings, but if you absolutely need to just give yourself absolute control over the system folders so you can add DLLs in whenever you want. (Of course you have to give yourself the access correctly though.) Re: Windows 7 - Dragoons Master - 03-08-2009 It was bugging with the IOCP I think. Now I don't remember exactly what did happen, but WCT5 solved it ![]() Re: Windows 7 - Atlantis - 29-08-2009 You don't even have to switch off UAC. Make a new textfile. Open up with Notepad, paste: Code: regsvr32 C:\path_to_dlls\dx7vb.dll Save the file. Rename it to "regthings.bat" (make sure your Windows doesn't hide known file extensions: Explorer -> Organize -> Folder and Layout Options -> View -> Untick "Hide Extensions for known filetypes") Now right-click -> Run as Administrator Done. =) Works for Vista, Windows 7 even for XP. Re: Windows 7 - Anthony - 29-08-2009 Atlantis is correct, you can also do the same thing by typing those commands into the search bar in the start menu and holding Ctrl+Shift while pressing enter and it will register the Dlls in administrator mode. I know I always say this to Matt but I don't think you should have to turn UAC off ![]() Re: Windows 7 - Matt - 29-08-2009 Anthony Wrote:Atlantis is correct, you can also do the same thing by typing those commands into the search bar in the start menu and holding Ctrl+Shift while pressing enter and it will register the Dlls in administrator mode. Re: Windows 7 - anasky - 20-10-2009 It works on my Windows 7. I didn't even install anything, but that could be because I installed Eclipse library's (www.freemmorpgmaker.com/libraryfiles-1.exe and www.freemmorpgmaker.com/LibraryFiles.zip) and put the compability of visual basic 6 to XP. |
