The New Deal - Rian - 22-07-2009 Firstly, allow me to get this out of the way. I no longer plan to move this site anywhere. Secondly, the two newest Community Leaders are Matt and James. I haven't even talked to Matt this morning, so I don't even know if he really wants to stick around. Regardless, the three of us have a nostalgic attachment to this place, and I think we will work well together. Now I know that some of you have had your differences with Matt, and I'd really like to put that behind us. I will be the first to say that I do expect he will behave differently now that he's in a position of power. DFA and Robin have been unbanned. If they really insist that I delete their accounts, I suppose I will. However, I would prefer not to. Along with their accounts, all of their posts would obviously be deleted. I'd like to avoid that if I can. Most of those posts are still valuable to this community. There will be many changes made to these forums over the next couple of days. I plan on removing Rants and Raves, and purging all of the posts in Off Topic, and in the Forum Games. We will also be adding some new boards, and removing others that umbrella too many different subjects. I invite everyone give me your own thoughts on what this place needs. We're still considering adding a couple more moderators. For now though, please try to respect one another. And in the mean time, here's a new rule I'd like you all to try and practice: Attack ideas, not each other. Re: The New Deal - Robin - 22-07-2009 Rian Wrote:DFA and Robin have been unbanned. If they really insist that I delete their accounts, I suppose I will. That's why we requested our accounts to be deleted. We've given a lot to this community, and over the past few months we've just had it thrown back in our faces. At the time of the request, we saw Mirage as dying and just becoming a cess-pit of flaming and arguments. I'll give a while and see how it goes. I'm not going to be coming online, but if Mirage still keeps falling down, I'll ask for my posts to be deleted so I'm not linked to the community anymore. Good luck. Re: The New Deal - Nean - 22-07-2009 I have a request: Delete MS Ambassadors as a group. It serves no purpose other than to give people an orange name, and a good 3/4ths of the ambassadors are only on maybe once or twice a month. If you need any help or anything, I suppose I could do my best. Then again, I'm fairly new to this community compared to everyone else. ![]() Re: The New Deal - Robin - 22-07-2009 Nean Wrote:If you need any help or anything, I suppose I could do my best. Then again, I'm fairly new to this community compared to everyone else. Better than everyone else here. People have been here half a decade, their egos are grown and moulded themselves in the Mirage community. There's too many e-peen matches to get a decent managment team. I still consider Rian a good friend, as he hasn't logged on daily to argue with people. I'm hoping that he'll sort Mirage out, but his choice of moderators is poor. Re: The New Deal - Matt - 22-07-2009 I don't care who doesn't like me, tbh. And Robin, feel free to say his choices in mods are poor, they're his choices and I doubt he's gonna change them. I originally was not planning to stick around, but I can't let Rian and James handle this on their own, so if Rian really wants me to stick around, I guess I can. I have a nostalgic love for this place and the source. I may not like certain members here, but I won't let my feelings for someone run my judgment. As I told Rian, if I feel something needs to be done, I will bring it to his attention first. If he agrees with me (since my opinion on something isn't always unbiased or right) then actions will be taken. One of the main things we need to do, is direct this community towards more than the source. Since it's all about the source, everyone that's helped a decent amount, expects everyone to contribute to the source. Personally, I think the source is good as is and any changes anyone thinks needs to be done, should be done by that person. If they choose to release something, fine. If not, oh well. No offense to Robin or DFA, but none of us asked you guys to help the way you did. I can't speak for everyone, but I damn sure appreciate what you two have done. Robin has gotten many people over the noob status and talked them into diving head first into the source and LEARN. DFA is the entire reason the MS4 project exists at all. The problem is, you guys seem to think you deserve more for your voluntary work. I don't agree. A lot of people have helped around here and as Robin has pointed out in the past, it only takes a week or two before your deeds have been forgotten. Just don't expect people to remember every thing you've done and a lot of the drama will go away. That goes for EVERYONE, not just them. Re: The New Deal - Robin - 22-07-2009 [quote="James"]Appreciate the faith Robin. ![]() Re: The New Deal - Matt - 23-07-2009 If you wanna leave, then just do so. Getting your account deleted is pointless. Specially if you want your posts deleted. Without your posts, a lot of stuff wouldn't make any sense. ![]() Re: The New Deal - DarkPhoenix - 23-07-2009 How about we all get along and move on? Re: The New Deal - Beres - 23-07-2009 Yeah! Jacob asked if I wanted to retain them, I said yes. That way they were still here and threads would make sense. However, Joost. Watch your self. I'm not like the other mods. I'm not gonna put up with anyone insulting anyone the way you love to do. If you don't like it, you can move on with Robin. He was stating a fact. Asshole as an insult? No because you are seriously an asshole and you know that very well. You bite peoples heads off, seriously. Hypocrite? Yes. Indeed you are being one. If you asked for your account to be deleted.. what was the point of that then? To show that you actually left MS? *buzzer* wrong. You made an account after 2 or 3 days anyways. Imho, I dont think youll make a great moderator. If you cant change the way you are stop trying to change the way other people are. Yes you may probably say you dont care much about my opinion.. well your a moderator now so start trying. |
