Horse Racing/Breeding game. - Egon - 18-06-2009
I have done zero work on this except think about it. I've only thought about it because one of my friends and one her friends is really into racing horses and genetics.
Basically all this would be is:
"Hey, wanna race?"
"Sure!"
"Wanna put some money down?"
"Alright, MajorDick to place."
Then they race on a track of Dirt, Mud, Grass, etc that had some kind of effect on how the horses run, i.e. one could love mud and one could hate mud. The one that loves mud would get a bonus of some kind on a stat.
One of them wins money and the other loses money.
And each horse gets a point to put into stats
Then they can go off and train the horse more
As for breeding, well it would go something like this:
"Hey, wanna make our horses ram into one another?"
"Sure!"
Then they each pick a horse and then BAM, foal.
That foal would get a mash of each horse's stats and what it looks like will be determined by genetics.
Oh, and it would have to have some kind of aging system so the horses die off and grow up. Plus some kind of system to sell off and buy horses.
Anyone want in on this?

Now that's interesting...do you have any toughts how would that look like?
Browser based (like travian, mafia wars etc.?) or Client?
If you had in mind Client to download, 2D style? To see horses how are they racing
or just text + images...clicking etc.?

Just slapped this together. As for graphics, they would of course be 2D on a straight track.

Can be like Dofus Online which has breeding for things called "Dragoturkies"
You have to train them and stuff and get them fertile a male and female then you put them together and they do a weird animation and it plays porn sounding music and walla female is pregnant. Then it has a timer till when baby will be born which can be male or female and can be either parents race, a mix of them, or one in either parents family tree. Pretty interesting actually

I loled. But you still have the HSTD(Horse STD
) problem don't you? Infertility doesn't prevent the disease's transmission during sex, but genital-less horses would be unaffected right? So add in some diseases for horses that force them to have to become genital-less and also make aging horses so they die of old age

Lol, i love what you would do to a horse if it was dead. But anyway add in this : Your Horse has a 50/50 chance of being a complete idiot so it just fucks it's self over every know and then. And speed buttons for slow/Gallop/Sprinting with a bar of there energy.
