Doom's Tileset 3 (Real Pixel Art) - Doomy - 12-05-2009

Well most of you said that what i made wasn't real pixel art. So I've abandoned that tileset i was making and i started a new one.
This one is 100% pixel art.

I had a little help on the shadow of the tree from pbcrazy.
all other credit goes to me

Looking to talk to someone on msn i can throw ideas off of.
This is what ive done so far

Hmm not half bad. It's a start.

The trees blend in with the grass too much.

i tired, however he just picked some really ackward colors for grass. pain in the arse to make an outline or something.

The tree looks too flat. Add a shadow and whatnot, and it might look better.

made some more flowers darkened the tree and the monster added some shadowing to the monster

Wow Doom, that tree looks way better now. I'm pretty impressed. You should clean up the outside of the mushroom, it looks kinda choppy and flat. Otherwise, I have no complaints, it looks great.

The character looks like an airhead candy wrapper thingy... and the colors don't go together.

Hmm I feel like trying to do something like this.. never attempted more than twice to do tilesets.

Understand now? Your character looks like a straight up robot. Try looking at how your eyes are in the mirror.
They DO NOT glow one color. The legs are supposed to be connected to the body but with your shading it
looks like its a blow up sex doll. The feet too. Reshape the head.

And what do you mean "what?". What of that don't you understand?

hope you don't mind but i took 2 colors from your sprite.
also im taking the way you did your eyes. yours are perfect. i had mine kinda like that hte first way but
they didn't come out quite nice. Now that i see how you did them i did mine that way. They are a little differnt though

Lol good answer there Tony. But on the picture you could make it a bit more realistic with some shadow on the tree and the building.

Shadow on the house darker shade of green to show that the house does have some realism, and like i said before and i think tony said SHADOW on the TREE

I actually like the style xD

They'll look terrible in screenshots, but if you get the tiles animated, and get lots of movement going on, it'll be lush.

I'll warn you that animation is much harder to get right than most things.

Having shadow would make it much better in my opinion.
