Way back I said MS should make a game it didnt get no where but it wasnt my fault other people decided to run it then. I still think its a good idea. With lots of people contributing then one nice thign will be made.
Heres the general idea... everyone is on the staff... its public domain... the source code will be able to be downloaded and everyone can add graphics. People will add maps, graphics, code anythign as they wish and they can then post on the website (which I would make) for added to the general game. There will then be a poll setup about their addition and democracy wins it. If peopel want that feature or image or anything in the game its done... if they do not then its not.
People probably wont contribute a lot right away I know this cause they do their own stuff and all but as the game progresses im sure that people will be more interested and help more. This is in no way my game. I am just organizing everything. I have no more say than anyone else as its everyones game. A game by the people for the people.
So who all likes this idea and would contribute in some way or check out the game or whtaever. I will get things started unless people dont want it.

Certain people will help, I'm sure of that. But as he said, people have their own games. I personally, would not do it, since I have TPO, and the fact that my methods clash with other's methods, and when it comes to programming, I'm not really one for working with so many different people.

You mean everyone as the mirage source community? if so is okay.. but for example someone hears about it and want to add something he adds and then he/she gets bored of the game and decides to take everything already done and/or deletes the game o.O.

It sounds kinda fun, but something in my mind says it won't work. You would have to take alot of responsability in conrolling hte community. And like Krloz said, anyone could just download that source full of all the code everyone created and call it his/her own.

Yeah any VB programmers out ther can help or artists or anything. There wont be someone running it but I would organize things like the polls and all of that. The community would make and run the game.
No one could delete the game. After someone would add something and it would be accepted by the community a new version would be uploaded for people to either get the exe of or get the source of to work on.
A lot of people think it wouldnt work but what wouldnt work? There is no one to flip out or quit on the game or whatever. Sicne everyones making it .. it wouldnt die since others would continue it. If you have heard of The Secret of Mana game check that out... its done this same way. Anyone contributes tot he game.
This one wouldnt be based of a game though of course... UNLESS the community wanted it to be so.
Anyways I think it could be cool. Plus all of those people out there who want to help with a game but cant do all of the work of making a game themselves can help however they can and have the pride of having done something for the game.

This would definately have to be very controlled like who currently has the latest version of the source, etc.. There will be multiple version and what not.. Although, i love this idea, and i would definately join in on this, just for some fun.. :wink:

Heres how it will work.... people will submit more less tutorials for what to add and peopel will vote to add it then it will be added to one source... so can test it and stuff and not just random stuff added.... and then either will reupload the new one or will release the code and all after a while as a new version of the game/source. I think the 2nd would be best to keep it organized better... we dont wanna reupload for small updates and all.
Anyways forums are activated now I forgot about that... its crap site but use it to get things moving.
Dave that would be cool but its not my decision... you can throw your idea out on the forums and see what people think.
