Introduction:
This is basically a remake of Super Bomberman 5 for the SNES, except with multiplayer online capabilities. Everything seems to be working fine so far, with a fully integrated lobby system Smile

Features:
  • Bomb dropping
    Bombs blow up other bombs
    Dynamic fire paths
    Bonus pick-up item (fire path distance +1)
    Death upon touching fire
    Death if in path of fire when it's launched
    Lose bonuses on death
    Lobby system
    Death animation
    Able to show off a jump animation with /jump
    High score list
    Kill / Death / Matches won counter
    Match system

Planned features:
  • Destroyable walls
    More bonus items (speed boost, drop more bombs, etc)

WARNINGS: This is Open Beta, not completed finished yet. I just wanted to do some testing and let you people check it out so far.

Alright well the next thing I'm doing is more frames for the sprite sheet Big Grin

There will be 40 frames in each row of the sprite sheet.

4 frames for left foot, 4 frames for right foot = 8 frames per direction = 32 frames for walking + 4 frames for dieing = 36 frames + 4 frames for jumping when you win the round. Big Grin

Yeah and now there will be more colors. You can be white, black, green, red, blue, and yellow. I'll also get more sprites ripped, like ninja bomberman and pirate bomberman, eventually.

You've got to give them lives. So you can get bombed twice before dying, and they blink when they just got hit.

thats prob not such a good idea Rory. I've only ever played bomberman Once (was on the Super Nintendo at my schools fair) and if your alert its hard to get hit (unless someone traps you with bombs).

I agree with Rory. It'd be much better. I've not played the game, but being one hit sucks. Lol.

The rounds are meant to be short. Right now, there are no destroyable walls so there's no strategy involved. It's just run around and bomb. Once they're added in, you won't be able to just run around the map and hit ctrl, you'll actually have to think(a little). I don't think that lives would work well for this game. Maybe it would be better to have like 3 lives per match, and once you die you lose a life and you don't come back in until the next round. If you lose all of your lives, you're out for the rest of the match.

You could also make like a Arcade mode, when you can co-op with your friends to kill NPCs and find the portal under the destroyables like in the SNES games.

Also, why wouldn't lives fit in a bomberman game, when they have it in every game.
Don't tell me its cause its online. Because the original Bomberman Online game has lives too.

Ideas for you Big Grin

Deathmatch which HAS lives

Team Deathmatch which has score,
first team to hit 20 wins. Blue/Red team

BombForGold, 20 kills FTW ends the match
each bomb on another player gives you gold
-edit\\ the longer it takes for you to kill the less gold there is.

Item shop, gloves, costumes, helmets, glasses
bomb boosters

I never said we shouldn't have lives. I just said that the lives should work differently.

Yeah, blocks start to appear around the arena until only the center was left, and if you were on those which appeared, you died. Also, there was like a limit of time in that small box afterwards, where if theres more than one person left, everyone loses.

Me too, but it's boring playing against the computer, or without any friends, that's why online games rule, but then lag sucks.
