Bomberman Online [Open Beta 1.1] - GIAKEN - 12-12-2008 Bomberman Online Open Beta Download: http://www.asphodelgames.com/community/ ... ic&start=0 Introduction: This is basically a remake of Super Bomberman 5 for the SNES, except with multiplayer online capabilities. Everything seems to be working fine so far, with a fully integrated lobby system ![]() Features:
Planned features:
WARNINGS: This is Open Beta, not completed finished yet. I just wanted to do some testing and let you people check it out so far. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Minilinkki - 12-12-2008 Whoa looks good, wna play, no body online, aww.. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - GIAKEN - 12-12-2008 Yeah I'll have to work on some NPC rooms... Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Minilinkki - 12-12-2008 Yeah, but that is good start. ![]() Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - GIAKEN - 12-12-2008 Thanks ![]() Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Minilinkki - 12-12-2008 ![]() I love the graphics (You rip these?) and cant wait when this is fully made. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - GIAKEN - 12-12-2008 Yeah my friend from OGC, DarkSpartan4, is doing all the graphics ripping from Super Bomberman 5 for me. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Minilinkki - 12-12-2008 Nice, try make more areas and other styles, and ofc "game select", if you can, but good work, for first. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - GIAKEN - 12-12-2008 Alright well the next thing I'm doing is more frames for the sprite sheet ![]() There will be 40 frames in each row of the sprite sheet. 4 frames for left foot, 4 frames for right foot = 8 frames per direction = 32 frames for walking + 4 frames for dieing = 36 frames + 4 frames for jumping when you win the round. ![]() Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Minilinkki - 12-12-2008 Omg, this gonna be fun and activy game! Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - GIAKEN - 12-12-2008 Actually 41 frames (5, not 4, frames for victory jumping). Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - DarkSpartan4 - 13-12-2008 Yeah and now there will be more colors. You can be white, black, green, red, blue, and yellow. I'll also get more sprites ripped, like ninja bomberman and pirate bomberman, eventually. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Rory - 13-12-2008 You've got to give them lives. So you can get bombed twice before dying, and they blink when they just got hit. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - zidsal - 13-12-2008 thats prob not such a good idea Rory. I've only ever played bomberman Once (was on the Super Nintendo at my schools fair) and if your alert its hard to get hit (unless someone traps you with bombs). Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Matt - 13-12-2008 I agree with Rory. It'd be much better. I've not played the game, but being one hit sucks. Lol. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - DarkSpartan4 - 13-12-2008 Perfekt Wrote:I agree with Rory. It'd be much better. I've not played the game, but being one hit sucks. Lol. The rounds are meant to be short. Right now, there are no destroyable walls so there's no strategy involved. It's just run around and bomb. Once they're added in, you won't be able to just run around the map and hit ctrl, you'll actually have to think(a little). I don't think that lives would work well for this game. Maybe it would be better to have like 3 lives per match, and once you die you lose a life and you don't come back in until the next round. If you lose all of your lives, you're out for the rest of the match. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Rory - 13-12-2008 You could also make like a Arcade mode, when you can co-op with your friends to kill NPCs and find the portal under the destroyables like in the SNES games. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Matt - 13-12-2008 Eh. It's your game. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Rory - 13-12-2008 XD Not really, its mostly Hudson's game. Also, why wouldn't lives fit in a bomberman game, when they have it in every game. Don't tell me its cause its online. Because the original Bomberman Online game has lives too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bomberman_Online_Japan Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Tony - 13-12-2008 Ideas for you ![]() Deathmatch which HAS lives Team Deathmatch which has score, first team to hit 20 wins. Blue/Red team BombForGold, 20 kills FTW ends the match each bomb on another player gives you gold -edit\\ the longer it takes for you to kill the less gold there is. Item shop, gloves, costumes, helmets, glasses bomb boosters Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - DarkSpartan4 - 13-12-2008 Rory Wrote:You could also make like a Arcade mode, when you can co-op with your friends to kill NPCs and find the portal under the destroyables like in the SNES games. Yeah we were thinking of doing that. Rory Wrote:XD Not really, its mostly Hudson's game. I never said we shouldn't have lives. I just said that the lives should work differently. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Rory - 14-12-2008 Meh, do w/e you want. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - Rory - 14-12-2008 Yeah, blocks start to appear around the arena until only the center was left, and if you were on those which appeared, you died. Also, there was like a limit of time in that small box afterwards, where if theres more than one person left, everyone loses. Re: Bomberman Online [Open Alpha] - GIAKEN - 14-12-2008 Yeah all of these ideas I've thought of. I love playing Super Bomberman 5 for the SNES...I play for hours. Me too, but it's boring playing against the computer, or without any friends, that's why online games rule, but then lag sucks. |
