Benign Online Classic Returns - Granite - 23-09-2008
Greetings All Zanpher (aka Granite) here with an updated first post on Benign Online Classic. The Staff has been working their asses off and after multiple staff problems all troubles have been fixed and the game is actually getting a redesign at request of players and non players, due to the non players saying the mapping is just ok. We take these considerations and criticism and thank everyone for posting their thoughts on how to make the game better, Because it is thanks to you all that we have redesigned everything even making a custom website to replace our freewebs one.
First and formost a look at two maps we have finished.
the first is the brand new beginner map.

As you can see we made the beginner area an island, this makes new players getting lost and not knowing what to do not happening as much as it did in the past, because in the past players quit the game without even figuring out to play. Now New players can feel welcomed to the game with great mapping and a better guide in the game to help them out.

Next is a high level area for people of high level of course. a pirate cave that has a tough boss on the ship once you venture inside, also you will see a rare item hunter, that little guy has a quest for ya..
Now to give some stats on benign such as how much is made and done, here we go .

[Update]
Here is a little bit of information on our expansion to the game which will be called Tales of Ulrick. We are aiming to get this out by christmas of this year.
-The Ulrick Story line and storyline quests.
These quests will start out for low level players and work their way up to high level. Some of these quests will be continuation quests, as in when you complete said quest at level 20, there will be a continuation quest at level 40 and so on. These quests will reward you with some sweet items that will aid you in the game.
*Note if you are a high level player, you will need to complete the low level quests before you can do the high level ones and for those of you that are worried that you might have to start over on the game, you will not have to. You will get to keep your levels. (Dunno why this was brought up in the meeting. You should already know the answer lol)
-New towns and dungeons.
A couple of new towns are in the works as well as new gear and spells that will be sold in these towns. You guys got some of the new gear in Prize Grabber Events.
-Skills.
Skill scripts will be added into the game. These skills will include things like fishing, mining, smelting, crafting, etc. So this will be a break for many players who grow tired of level grinding and quest item collecting.
-Mini Games
For those who want to have a break from the game to play a game and maybe earn some reo or some cool items. Minigames may include Lottery, Gambling, and Dice.
-New Game Features
AOE Spells. (A big maybe as of right now. This requires some skilled scripting.)
Marriage.
Carry Over Experience
And many more features to look out for.

Thanks again everyone who has commented on Benign in this Forum post, I thank the staff mostly because without their hard work and devotion to the game, Benign would probaly still be a dead project.

Just finished playing this for an hour or so, gotta say it's a really awesome game
Most quests are similar to WoW-style, which is basically kill-retreive, but it goes fast since there's a chance they drop more then just one of the certain time, which is always a nice addition . The admins are really nice and eager to help, which is always a +, and the game seems really balanced, as far as I could tell Awesome game Granite

You mean the SoM 3 Ripped GRaphics that once belonged to Twisted Mirage. well they are still in there.. we just don't use them as much since we upgraded the tile sheet.

The game looks good, do you have a chance of dropping items in pvp?

On the island screenshot (with the 4 maps), if you look at the bottom right map, you'll see that the coastline is fucked up.

@William, During PVP Items do not drop, only in the Red Zones, known by stewart on mad tv [ danger zone]. We had alot of complaints on higher level's pking the lower levels so we are trying to revamp the pvp system somehow. Oh yea IF at all possible William when/if you create the benign sub-board could you move this post to it?
@ Matt, yes I ran across this when I was putting the screenshot together. but I was too lazy at the time to remap then take another screenshot.
