Sliding Map Transition - Acruno - 18-08-2008 Sliding Map Transition ORIGINAL CODE BY DAVE Difficulty: 3/5 - Requires understanding Backup your source! Tutorial Subject to Change with new versions of MS4 Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh77gAUOKSE (Note: Game featured is Merrimint) [Edit by Dave: tutorial removed because it was copy and paste] [Edit by Robin: tutorial removed because it was just images with code in them] Re: Sliding Map Transition - Robin - 18-08-2008  Nice, just make it C&P. At least write it out so people learn something from it. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Acruno - 18-08-2008 Sorry, I meant to mention, I will add explanations tomorrow, I just wanted to actually get it up first, a bit busy IRL at the moment  Re: Sliding Map Transition - TehGrunt - 20-08-2008 Seems to me like it needs Optimized Surfaces, because it uses MiddleBuffer, LowerBuffer, and UpperBuffer. Then again, I'm probably wrong. :| Re: Sliding Map Transition - Robin - 20-08-2008 It's built for the latest version of Mirage, which comes with optimised surfaces. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Acruno - 20-08-2008 It works fine with a Vanilla MS3.43, not sure what DFA and Dave has changed/removed since then though. Re: Sliding Map Transition - GIAKEN - 20-08-2008 Wouldn't it be better to just move the map on the same layer instead of doing it on another one? It would be harder, however...I think? Re: Sliding Map Transition - GIAKEN - 20-08-2008 Ah well I guess I just think of hard ways to do things. ![]() Nice work, though. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Acruno - 21-08-2008 I've found a bug in the transition. When the map slides, it displays the tile at the top of the column that your tile is in, as opposed to the tile itself. I will have a look at the code and see what is wrong. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Rian - 22-08-2008 I support your decision. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Rian - 22-08-2008 I made a copy of it too. I also don't intend to use it on my game (nor scrolling maps). Though I do have a project in mind that sliding maps would be use full for, I think I'm just gonna use MS4 (or whatever it's called these days) Re: Sliding Map Transition - wisefire - 24-08-2008 Damnett, I didn't get a copy of it.. Lol. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Robin - 24-08-2008 Asrrin29 Wrote:I had a feeling that would happen, which is why I made a copy for personal use You mean Dugor is. Re: Sliding Map Transition - GIAKEN - 24-08-2008 Somebody PM this to me, please :? Re: Sliding Map Transition - GIAKEN - 24-08-2008 I know I just want to see how you did it and since I've never tried to do it myself I don't know how to. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Matt - 25-08-2008 Download the source that has it? It's really not that hard. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Robin - 25-08-2008 Download the patch file and add it in? :| Re: Sliding Map Transition - GIAKEN - 25-08-2008 It's not in the source yet besides the SVC patch (right?) and I can't get subversion to work yet. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Acruno - 25-08-2008 GIAKEN Wrote:It's not in the source yet besides the SVC patch (right?) and I can't get subversion to work yet. It's plaintext. Open it in notepad or something. No I did that and it was just a bunch of binary. Re: Sliding Map Transition - Acruno - 25-08-2008 No.. Try again. Trust me, it's in plaintext. Re: Sliding Map Transition - GIAKEN - 25-08-2008 Oh...well I could have sworn it wasn't... Well I got like 3 PMs and an email so I'm good. Thanks ![]() Re: Sliding Map Transition - Matt - 25-08-2008 *shrugs* People enable people to be noobs Dave. You know that. Giaken will forever be one. *shakes head* It's a shame.
