LiveALife - Egon - 27-09-2008 It sounds kind of like my old idea. People would have to rely on other people to have success in the game. ex, a carpenter would need the blacksmith to make his tools and the lumberjack to supply the wood. Then the farmers would need the carpenter's/blacksmith's tools. The cook needs the farmers and the fishermen/hunter to make food. The trader buys and sells things and can make/find stuff. The miner gets the ore for the blacksmith. Re: LiveALife - Matt - 27-09-2008 Egon Wrote:It sounds kind of like my old idea. That's part of the plan. ![]() Interested in helping? I need help with graphics.. >.> Re: LiveALife - Mattyw - 27-09-2008 Sounds good, alot of ORPG's are all the same now, we need something different. =-p Re: LiveALife - Egon - 27-09-2008 Na, my plate is pretty full right now. Still busy with Fox's old game. Re: LiveALife - Kousaten - 27-09-2008 ^_^ I'm having a lot of fun practicing my skills on the first GUI sample hehe. The idea behind this game is pretty cool too--something I'd put my time into even if just for an hour a day or something. Re: LiveALife - Matt - 27-09-2008 Egon Wrote:Na, my plate is pretty full right now. Still busy with Fox's old game. Alright, well, it was worth the shot. ![]() Updated first post with the main menu. Re: LiveALife - Mithlomion - 28-09-2008 You were complaining about Robin using the same style for his own games. But now your using His style for your game.. Ive seen about 4 Essence games with that GUI.. its getting fucking boring and annoying. Edit : Now that i see you didnt do the GUI, but if youre gonna get a GUI artist.. alteast get a decent one who knows a bit more than taking somebodys PSD files and changing colors on layers.. Re: LiveALife - Kousaten - 28-09-2008 I used the tutorials Robin posted actually to do one for a game I'm working on (not the same one you saw on essence), and he PM'd me saying he liked it and wanted one similar in green. oO They're my own PSDs, just in the similar fashion because it's what I've learned recently. Re: LiveALife - Mithlomion - 28-09-2008 They're really not your own PSD's, because there is nothing yours in those GUI's. You didnt even try, the GUI surely looks totally like Robins.. even though you claim you've made it from scratch. Perhaps next time you decide learning from a tutorial, you should try improvising and being creative, instead of you copying to style from the tutorial.. Re: LiveALife - Kousaten - 28-09-2008 I'll take your advice, and thanks. If he wants me to keep working on these though, I'll keep doing them this way. If not, that's fine too. ![]() Re: LiveALife - Rory - 28-09-2008 Even if you made it from scratch, and replicated everything, till the position, font and size of the Copyright slogan, and of course the GUI Textures, its pretty much the old GUI Style I did a long time ago for Winds Whisper/Essence. Re: LiveALife - Kousaten - 28-09-2008 The point was made and I already understand it. To reiterate, if he wants me to keep working in this fashion I will--it's his game and his ideas. If he wants it differently, I can do that too. If he wants someone else, cool. Sorry if that came off a little bad, but having things more or less rubbed back in while I've got a sinus headache tends to get me cranky. Just ask Andrew. ![]() Re: LiveALife - Hikaru - 28-09-2008 Okay... Anyways... I'm looking forward to some great things from this game. I'm always drawn to games that have original and unique ideas. Keep us updated! Re: LiveALife - chaoscauser - 28-09-2008 It doesn't sound new to me it just sounds like runescape  Re: LiveALife - Mattyw - 28-09-2008 chaoscauser Wrote:It doesn't sound new to me it just sounds like runescape  Go back to XW. >.> Naw, I won't be mean. It sounds nothing like RuneScape, LiveALife, RuneScape. Both completely different, name. =-p Plus their plot is different, base plot I should say. RuneScape is combat & the such, combat on RuneScape is still more than the skills, such as Fishing. So this is completely different. >.> Re: LiveALife - GIAKEN - 28-09-2008 chaoscauser Wrote:It doesn't sound new to me it just sounds like runescape  Shut the fuck up. Runescape did not invent the first anything. So no game can "copy" it. Re: LiveALife - Robin - 28-09-2008 Ooh, nice GUI. Glad to see my tutorial helped you out. Good luck with it. I was actually going to make a very similar project a while back, which was just default Mirage with tons of tradeskills in it xD Never got around to it though ![]() Re: LiveALife - Matt - 28-09-2008 Robin Wrote:Ooh, nice GUI. Thanks. ![]() Re: LiveALife - Mithlomion - 28-09-2008 Perfekt Wrote:Robin Wrote:Ooh, nice GUI. Glad to see my tutorial helped you out. Why? You complain and voice your opinions in everybody's threads. Some people say what they think and you immediately request a clean up.. I'd say no, you dont deserve a clean up since you "spam" enough yourself. Re: LiveALife - Matt - 28-09-2008 Mithlomion Wrote:Why? I'd say you suck dick, but I don't wanna out you or anything. I don't want everyone knowing your secrets. Btw, go to hell you little fag boy. Re: LiveALife - Mithlomion - 28-09-2008 Lol. Is that the best you had to say? Faaaiiil Re: LiveALife - Mattyw - 28-09-2008 Calm down. =-p Question, doe s aMerchant ONLY buy off of other players? Or can they also sell to other players. Re: LiveALife - Kousaten - 28-09-2008 I'm thinking they can sell to players too, in order to bolster the economy. I haven't really asked him about the details of any concepts, so I know as much as you guys do about it. ^^; Re: LiveALife - Matt - 28-09-2008 Well obviously you can trade with other players, so anyone can sell certain items. The point of the merchant is to help keep the economy flowing. @Mith - Best I can do? You've seen me rip apart people on these forums. Quit posting if you're just gonna be a fucking douche. |
