LiveALife - Egon - 27-09-2008

It sounds kind of like my old idea.

People would have to rely on other people to have success in the game. ex, a carpenter would need the blacksmith to make his tools and the lumberjack to supply the wood. Then the farmers would need the carpenter's/blacksmith's tools. The cook needs the farmers and the fishermen/hunter to make food. The trader buys and sells things and can make/find stuff. The miner gets the ore for the blacksmith.

^_^ I'm having a lot of fun practicing my skills on the first GUI sample hehe. The idea behind this game is pretty cool too--something I'd put my time into even if just for an hour a day or something.

You were complaining about Robin using the same style for his own games.

But now your using His style for your game..
Ive seen about 4 Essence games with that GUI.. its getting fucking boring and annoying.

Edit : Now that i see you didnt do the GUI, but if youre gonna get a GUI artist.. alteast get a decent one who knows a bit more than taking somebodys PSD files and changing colors on layers..

I used the tutorials Robin posted actually to do one for a game I'm working on (not the same one you saw on essence), and he PM'd me saying he liked it and wanted one similar in green. oO

They're my own PSDs, just in the similar fashion because it's what I've learned recently.

They're really not your own PSD's, because there is nothing yours in those GUI's.

You didnt even try, the GUI surely looks totally like Robins.. even though you claim you've made it from scratch.
Perhaps next time you decide learning from a tutorial, you should try improvising and being creative, instead of you copying to style from the tutorial..

Even if you made it from scratch, and replicated everything, till the position, font and size of the Copyright slogan, and of course the GUI Textures, its pretty much the old GUI Style I did a long time ago for Winds Whisper/Essence.

The point was made and I already understand it. To reiterate, if he wants me to keep working in this fashion I will--it's his game and his ideas. If he wants it differently, I can do that too. If he wants someone else, cool.

It sounds nothing like RuneScape, LiveALife, RuneScape. Both completely different, name. =-p

Plus their plot is different, base plot I should say. RuneScape is combat & the such, combat on RuneScape is still more than the skills, such as Fishing.

So this is completely different. >.>

Good luck with it. I was actually going to make a very similar project a while back, which was just default Mirage with tons of tradeskills in it xD

I'm thinking they can sell to players too, in order to bolster the economy. I haven't really asked him about the details of any concepts, so I know as much as you guys do about it. ^^;

Well obviously you can trade with other players, so anyone can sell certain items. The point of the merchant is to help keep the economy flowing.

@Mith - Best I can do? You've seen me rip apart people on these forums. Quit posting if you're just gonna be a fucking douche.
